Our Girl Empowerment Program serves cis/trans girls of color and non-binary youth, ages 12-18 years old, in low-income communities. Our program cultivates self-confidence, reduces stress, and fosters supportive peer relationships using CMDC's Dance from the Heart method. We offer one-time workshops and 6-12 week classes that are free to participants by partnering with schools and organizations such as MOSTe, South Central Sisters, Peace Over Violence, A Place Called Home, Abode Communities, Alexandria House and schools like Markham Middle School, Girls Athletic Leadership School, New Village Girls Academy, Academic Learning Communities (ALC) and Roosevelt High. |
