Release! Unleash! ¡LIBÉRATE! - Saturday, 5/25 | register below! Join us for a day of healing arts and movement to reconnect with our mind, body, spirit, and each other–featuring a diverse mix of over 30 local nonprofit organizations, wellness providers and healing artists at El Sereno Community Garden! Find your center in the lushness of the garden and visit a variety of FREE community health resources, interactive workshops, and hands-on activities that celebrate ancestral wisdom and offer accessible mental health tools that meet you where you are. We gather on Saturday, May 25th from 12-5pm to release stress, unleash the restorative power of our creativity, and break free from the myth that we have to do it alone. Explore and cultivate practices for our mental health and wellness that move us from burning out in isolation to burning brightly together! Plus! What is Dance from the Heart ?
What is Dance from the Heart? Dance from the Heart is a trauma-informed healing movement practice that helps people reconnect to their bodies to heal and empower themselves. Through movement, participants set intentions and gently release anything holding them back so they can move forward more easily to manifest their heart-felt visions for their health, life and world. Dance from the Heart helps participants to reconnect with their bodies, heal trauma, build resilience, and create communities of support to achieve their goals. Through Dance from the Heart, participants often experience decreased stress and tension; increased self-worth and confidence; and greater supportive connections with others. |
Anyone can Dance from the Heart. You don't need to know any of the steps or have any prior dance experience. For all bodies and abilities. Dance from the Heart is composed of 7 gentle steps inspired by the elements of nature that support you in several ways:
- Getting present in the moment
- Grounding in your body
- Connecting to an heart-felt intention or goal
- Releasing any fears or limiting beliefs that may be keeping you stuck or holding you back
- Energizing your visions by embodying them with gentle movement
